The Kovalski platelet is very strong, stiff, light and multi-functional. It has a large surface area that applies a high even amount of clamping pressure, so that the strap cannot twist when mounted with just 1 screw per side.
The holes are in a asymmetrical position, so that you can turn the plate 180° to achieve a precise and comfortable width for the feet. If you turn both plates, it's just the difference between barefoot and boots.
Loosen the screws for an easy adjustment to change the strap size from summer-sailing to cold winter boot-sailing style.
The outer holes are "oval" to allow a correct angle for the screws.
